Who We Are
I (Kelly) grew up in Moncton, NB and my husband, Sylvain is from Montreal, QC. We met in 2001 when I was headed to St FX to continue my studies. After earning my B.Ed., Sylvain’s career in the hotel industry took us to Quebec and Ontario. Being a maritime girl at heart, the plan was always to head back home at some point, and in 2022 the time was right. We are grateful to have found a perfect place for us in beautiful Tracadie.

The Livestock
Our barn cats and family dogs are affectionately known as “the livestock,” a nod to the property’s rich farming history. Our smaller but beloved group of livestock now includes three barn cats and our dogs, Kaymus and Nova.
Hope
Hope came to us in August of 2022 as a feral cat with no interest in humans. With many months of love and effort, a relationship of trust was built and now Hope will gladly greet us and accept several nice pats. Hope also enjoys the company of Shady and loves to be out and about outside in the warmer months. She is a great hunter who now keeps care of our Green Barn.
Shady
We welcomed Shady to our roster in September 2022 and he quickly showed that he is the right fit for barn life. He enjoys the freedom and space of our Workshop building and loves to prowl around the property keeping an eye on everything. To say that Shady is a real character is an understatement! He is a feisty little thing, who fancies himself to be a ferocious beast.
Ginger
Ginger joined our crew in the fall of 2023 and is our friendly office cat. He’s full of energy, loves to play and also enjoys outdoor adventures with Hope and Shady. Ginger has the loudest purr and is very sweet to every person who meets him. Be careful, as he may climb up your leg for a snuggle!
Nala
Nala was such an important part of our family and loved Nova Scotia life. She was Kelly’s shadow and best friend, and the most loyal and loving companion. She was happy to be with us in whatever we were doing, and could be counted on to sit on guests’ feet and raise her head for a pat. We feel Nala’s presence in the sun and the gentleness of nature.
